Let It Snow...

I said I wouldn't be on here blogging this week, but then...it snowed. And my mother and sister are snowed in at my parents house, which means I'm not out snagging great after-Christmas shopping deals. Which really means that being snowed-in is saving me LOTS of money! So anyway, we had heard rumors of a white Christmas, but the skeptic in me scoffed. And then we woke up on Saturday morning and it looked like this...

How sweet! A dusting of snow for Christmas...and I said, "I'll take what I can get". Apparently I could get a whole lot more if I just waited a few hours! We headed over to my parents house in the afternoon to enjoy the warmth in front of their fireplace and it continued to snow...

Around 7 o'clock, we decided we should cut the evening short and head back to our house before the roads got too bad, so we said our good-byes and headed out the door. On the way home I asked Peter if we could drive around the downtown area so I could get some pictures...

And just in case you're loving the covered bridge, when I was a child they still allowed cars to drive on it, but that finally stopped a few years ago. At any rate, we headed on home and the snow kept falling...

...and falling...

...and falling...

...until the next morning we saw this from our living room window...

...a winter wonderland, and the snow was still falling...

...and it kept falling all day long...

...and this is what it looked like when Peter left for work this morning...

...White Christmas? I'll take it!

I hope you had a wonderful time with your family/friends, whether you were in snow, sand, or the hot jungles of the world! We enjoyed the times when it was just the two of us. We loved being with family or on Skype with those far away. We acted like kids when we pelted each other with snowballs and laughed until our sides hurt. I squealed when Peter surprised me with a lamp I had been wanting from Target for Christmas. And we counted our blessings as it continued to snow, and snow, and snow! May you enjoy this final week of 2010 - can't wait to see what the next year holds!

  1. Love the pictures! I especially like the ones of downtown E-ton! I sure miss it! I think that we could still drive across the bridge when we lived there.. hard to believe it has been about 6 years ago now since we left!!!

  2. Wasn't it wonderful to have a beautiful white Christmas? We didn't get nearly as much snow as you did, but I loved experiencing the beauty through your fabulous pictures.
