Open Doors

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."
-- Helen Keller

May we never look so long at the closed door that we miss the open door behind us. For the last two years I've been staring at firmly closed doors and have missed an open door practically in my own backyard. Thankfully, I finally turned around and tried the door that wasn't locked - better late than never. Today is my first day of work - training for the job actually. I'm reminded of what Mother Superior told Maria before she headed to the VonTrapp household, "When God closes a door, somewhere He opens a window!" And I'm thankful for the breeze.

PLEASE NOTE: There are 6 days left to vote in the poll on my sidebar. So far "Personal Growth" and "DIY Projects" are leading the charge, so if you would be so kind as to add your input about what you want to see more of on Busy Nothings in 2011, I would appreciate it!

Thanks for the encouragement to enjoy the breeze. I needed that!
