I Was Framed!

Right before we left for Montreal, I had the opportunity to design and order a custom frame from 1st Frame.com, in exchange for a review of my experience. Honestly, I'm always a little hesitant to agree to those kinds of things, because you just never know how the product is going to turn out, or if it will be deserving of a glowing review (which is what everyone who gives something away wants, obviously).

As I was in a hurry to place the order, I quickly selected a quote from author Oscar Wilde, picked out a font, and hoped for the best. Later, I wondered if I should have chosen something else, but my mind was set at ease after I received the preview email, showing me a mock-up of what my frame would look like when it was done. If I hadn't liked it, I could have said no and done something different - now that's service!

A few days after I returned from Montreal, I received a box in the mail, containing my beautiful 1st Frame creation. I was excited to see if it would look like the mock-up email {it did}, and if it would make me want to actually buy more frames in the future {yes}. As you can see, I was happily "framed"...

My new frame sits on my office desk, as a daily reminder to be who God made me, to use the talents that He gave me, and not to wish I was like someone else. I have a photo of Peter and I at the beach, as a further reminder that I am blessed to have a husband who loves me, quirks and all!

A lot of people are talking about shopping local this Christmas, doing their part to support small businesses rather than the large chain stores. Although 1st Frame isn't exactly "local" for me (it's located in Michigan), it is a small, family-run business, and I highly encourage you to get to know the man behind the frame.

Dean is offering all kinds of sales and specials between now and Christmas - take advantage of them and give the folks on your Christmas list a truly one-of-a-kind gift this holiday season! If you'd like to see another 1stFrame creation, I recommend checking out this blog post from my fellow blogger (and co-worker), Molly. She created a beautiful frame with the skyline of her newly adopted hometown - Chicago.

What would you engrave on a frame?
Do you have plans to "buy local" this Christmas?

    1. I recently had a frame done to display a photo of my Harley Davidson. I could not have been more pleased with the results. So much so , i ordered several more to give out as Christmas gifts. I downloaded photos from my friends facebook albums. And inserted them in the frames. Instant Display ! They all ask where i found these, and i told them about Mr. Vollmar, (Dean) and 1stframe. And how i designed, with Deans help, these frames just for them. They were a hit at every gift exchange i was involved with. I like mine so much , i can't wait to design another! Thought i would share
