E...I love hearing all these different traditions!

Erika - I love the ornament idea. We do something similar, only it's as we travel to new places, we always bring back an ornament for the tree. We even brought back a tiny gourd (as in, the kind they wear) from Papua! ;-) This year we've already purchased a "Darth Vader" for our Christmas tree in honor of the purchase of "Vader" - the car! :-)

I also love the idea of new pj's for Christmas. If we ever have kids, that's something that I plan on doing.

Thanks for sharing, everyone!C.G. We do OCC here too-love it and it teaches so much to my children about giving. It's dear to my heart. One of our family traditions is every year over Thanksgiving break I take the family to the movies...its interesting to see how they have to work through their age differences to pick a movie for everyone but I stick to it and the kids (who two are now adults) have to do team work and pick together. Happy holidays.

IrishIrish Carter of Dedicated 2 LIFEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14409481102334935905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899893125552679366.post-46857074859686669452011-11-08T16:20:15.530-05:002011-11-08T16:20:15.530-05:00We started giving the kids new pj's on Thanksg...We started giving the kids new pj's on Thanksgiving eve. We still do stockings as well and I love them. =)Kaysihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10358830869263496501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899893125552679366.post-22658351430742653152011-11-08T12:41:07.477-05:002011-11-08T12:41:07.477-05:00I'm super excited about the shoebox idea. I teach middle schoolers at my church and we'll be going out to fill a few boxes together. I'm hoping to get some new traditions started for some of my middle school girls! It was just a really important thing for me growing up (and now!).

Daniel and I do stockings too. We always set a pretty low price limit for stocking spending. It is always interesting to see what kind of stuff we can come up with. Usually it is a pretty random assortment.

We also get each other an ornament every year. Something that represents the year. It is really fun because we're slowly ending up with a tree full of memories :)Erikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14389005030066413697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899893125552679366.post-65484072907032818972011-11-08T06:58:54.669-05:002011-11-08T06:58:54.669-05:00Love it!

According to their behavior, he may or may not leave them treats :) It's a game of hide and seek that they ALL (even my 11 year old) loves :) Perrin was just talking about Thanksgiving yesterday and Narkley returning was the first thing he mentioned :)Kelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10177013606688683106noreply@blogger.com
