With no running water, sleeping outside, a lady is pretty much at her worst. If he can handle you then, he can handle you anytime! (I'm serious, this worked for me and a friend of mine, as told to us by our husbands!)

I'm all about lesson 2 - PASSION IS NOT FOREVER. Sometime during that senior year, he told me, "I don't think I could ever marry my best friend" and I remember thinking "You SHOULD marry your best friend!" Luckily for me he saw the error of his ways :-)

About lesson 3 - I'm sure we could have used one of those! We definitely have different body temperatures, but they switch during the night! When we go to bed he is on top of the covers and I am snuggled under them. In the middle of the night I am sweating and throwing off covers, and he's pulling them up to his neck!

About lesson 4 - SO true! We knew we had to wait to have kids because of schooling (aka Moody :-)) but during that time we both went through a time where we could see ourselves never having kids. And that's okay! I started to change my mind, wanting to have kids, but Dan still wasn't ready. And I remember talking to him and saying - "I will wait until YOU are ready. And if that never happens, so be it." I was NOT going to be one of those wives who "oops-ed" my husband! Yikes! Kids are such a HUGE impact on a marriage, you BETTER be on the same page!

Anyway, I think this comment is long enough. Let me just say your advice is definitely spot-on :-)Sarah DeSalvohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14648711711757596328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899893125552679366.post-83742979805426419532011-04-19T06:59:21.234-04:002011-04-19T06:59:21.234-04:00Great post! And I love the picture. :)

I only have 6 1/2 years of marriage under my belt but I have a piece of advice that ties in with your barn analogy.

Don't marry someone thinking he/she will change (e.g. that you can paint the barn yourself). Marry someone who you accept 100% in your heart and as part of your life - 'flaws' and all.Karenhttp://www.mygoalissimple.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899893125552679366.post-3906987745871631462011-04-19T06:32:04.186-04:002011-04-19T06:32:04.186-04:00I love this post.
