Thankful For :: 931 - 940

Two four-day weeks in a row? I could get used to this! Last week it was the Biltmore, this week it was a national holiday. I guess I should be thankful for these two weeks and for the fact that we both enjoy our jobs now, so there's no dread of the five-day work week or Monday Morning Moodiness. That is a true blessing.

This week I'm thankful for...

931.  Two, four-day work weeks (I know, so original!)

932. (But wait, it gets better!) Jobs that we both enjoy and look forward to each and every day

933. Being productive - I have sluggish tendencies, but I do like the feeling of getting something done

934. My walking buddy - she keeps me accountable

935. Mid-week Dunkin' Donuts breakfast dates with a friend

936. My old pharmacy job - because that's where I met my walking buddy and my DD friend

937. Our 8-year-old Dell laptop - still going strong and saving my bacon when the 2-year-old laptop DIED

938. Discovering fun new tools to make my social media life/job easier

939. Homemade pizzas - wow.

940. My new haircut (and for the hubby who cut it!)

Excuse the cheese - Peter says I'm horrible for cheesing when a camera comes out. He's right.

What are YOU thankful for this week?

  1. Cute haircut! I don't think I've ever seen it that short (or down, for that matter!)...

    1. Thanks! It's been shorter than this a couple of times in my life (once in junior high with a perm - the last I ever got, and once right before we went to Tanzania in 2004 - so short that I couldn't get it into a ponytail and it was SO HOT!), but this is certainly the shortest it has been in a while. Peter went straight to short when he cut it, and I didn't think I liked it right away, but now that it has been a week, I LOVE it. SO much easier to deal with and I can even curl it from time to time. YAY!! :-)

  2. This week I'm thankful for-

    - The Eurovision song contest- In our house the performances weren't just watched on TV. They've also been watched repeatedly on youtube, shown excitedly to visitors, sung along to, parodied and danced to in the kitchen. That show has brought us a lot of joy.

    - Spotify- It only just launched in Australia and I'm loving it. I'm facing some financial challenges at the moment so can't really afford to be buying many CDs or music downloads. It is so cool to be able to stream for free the albums I've been really wanting to hear but couldn't afford.

    - My local discount bookstore- Normal bookstores here are often quite expensive so it has been a fantastic blessing to find books I've been wanting to read or that will be a useful ministry resource marked down to $5 at the discount book store.

    - Nature reserves near my house- I'm thankful for the urban planners who decided to leave some segments of forest for us to enjoy in the middle of suburbia and to create walking tracks rather than trying to make money out of every possible piece of land.

    1. Thanks, Sandy! I wasn't sure about it at first, but I'm totally in love with it now. I'll pass your compliment on to Peter! :-)
