Booking It with Life as Mom

I just did the Wednesday Book Recommendation post, but since this was book-related, I wanted to do it was well. :-)

Yesterday, Jessica (over at the Life as Mom blog) challenged her readers to come up with a list of 12 books (one book a month) they want to read or re-read in 2010. If you're interested in reading her original post about this, click here. Today is the day that we're supposed to blog about our list and "link up" to her blog. If you want to link up with today's post over at Life as Mom (or if you want to see what other people plan to read this year), you can click here.

Here's my list of books I would like to read and/or re-read this year (in no particular order):
  1. The Bible (that won't be in a month, but in a year)
  2. One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn
  3. The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  4. Taliesin by Stephen R. Lawhead
  5. The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis
  6. Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss
  7. Skating Shoes by Noel Streatfeild
  8. Becoming a Person of Influence by John C. Maxwell & Jim Dornan
  9. Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne
  10. An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott
  11. Amusing Ourselves to Death by Neil Postman
  12. A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain
Last night I started the "reading the Bible through in a year" part, and I'm planning on reading The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis in January. What about you? What books would you like to read this year? Please share!

  3. I agree. Great list with great variety. I had long wanted to read "Amusing Ourselves to Death" but had forgotten about it in recent years.

  4. BTW, do we get a free personal pan pizza if we read all of the books on our lists? I think we should. ;o)

A reminder: there are more than 400,000 words in the English language, please use them wisely.
