You Capture...Mornings

The subject this time was "Mornings". Honestly, I wasn't sure what we do in the mornings that would be photo-worthy. And while I didn't end up with any wow shots, I assure you that they are a true picture of what mornings look like at our house. My favorite photograph this week: the coffee cup. For more morning fun, work your way through the You Capture links @I Should Be Folding Laundry.

We eat a lot of eggs for breakfast - inexpensive protein

Of course, you can't eat eggs without bacon (in our case, turkey bacon) and a cup (or two or three) of coffee (lovely Dunkin' Donuts - the REAL stuff)

Some mornings we have blueberry pancakes made with soy flour and flax seed meal (healthy and South Beach Diet friendly)

But no matter what we eat, there is always coffee (it just, sadly, has to be decaf - or unleaded as we call it - because of the South Beach rules). Coffee goes to work with hubby in a thermos...or two. :-)

And I get to enjoy my coffee at home - a swirling bit of yummy goodness to start the day and hopefully help with my productivity!

Thanks for stopping by and for all your kind comments last week. I'm really new at the whole "looking at the world through the lens of a camera", but I've found it to be fun and, surprisingly, relaxing. Have a great week!

  1. Love the last one. I've switched to decaf too...because quite frankly regular just makes me feel sick all day. I don't get jittery but my stomach is just all blah...and I don't really have time for that. I drink a lot of tea now instead. But I love the taste of coffee with cream and sugar and a bit of caramel syrup...soooo yum :)

  2. Oh yum. Now you've made me hungry for breakfast. Eggs have totally been grossing me out this pregnancy, but your shots actually make them look palatable! Great captures!

  6. Thanks for stopping by to peek at my pics.

Your first picture is my favorite because it made me smile immediately. I didn't see a pan of eggs first, I saw a many-eyed monster with a bright blue smile! (I am a Faces In Places fan.)

The next to last picture is my second favorite. It looks very retro.

  15. @Tiaras - I must be honest here...your husband would adore MY HUSBAND. He's the one that cooks each and every morning and I ADORE him! We came to an agreement a while back that if he would cook (which he likes to do), I will clean up and do the food prep (chopping mostly), which I don't mind doing (don't love, but like better than cooking). It works for us. :-)

  17. I love your eggs in the fry pan! They look so yummy! I also really like your last shot of the coffee cup. My coffee is decaf too. I've been doing it for a while now - my body is all good about getting faked out - I don't even notice the difference anymore. LOL!

  22. Thanks for sharing your morning with me. I smiled when I saw your mug. I recently went to Seoul (Korea) and often went into Dunkin Donuts to buy coffee and the local sticky rice cake!

Thanks for the visit. Have a good day. xxx
