Thankful For :: 781 - 790

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.
{Melody Beattie}

"[...] in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
{1 Thessalonians 5:18*}

This week I'm thankful for...

781. Friends and opportunities

782. Blogging encouragement

783. Seeing actual progress being made on the Great Purge of 2012

784. Attitude adjustments

785. One day to throw the entire South Beach idea out the window

786. A husband who reminds me that tomorrow is a new day

787. Holidays (meaning days of celebration, not vacations)

788. Reminders of He who taught us to love: "We love because HE first loved us" (1 Jn. 4:19)**

789. Celebrating Valentine's Day with my honey at Chick-fil-A

790. My bouquet of "used" flowers (yes, there's a story there)

  1. I really love that y'all did Chick-fil-a too. And I'd really love to hear about the used Valentine's day flowers. That sounds like a totally interesting story.

  2. I really wanted to come on here and say "I love that both you and Erika went to Chick-fil-a for Valentine's day," but I think I'm a little late for that. :) Thanks for posting, as always, Carrie.

  4. Okay...here it is:

    The week-end before Valentine's Day, we went to a Sweetheart Fundraiser Dessert that my nephew's school put on to raise money for their choir (in which my nephew sings) to go to NYC this fall. There were various sized rose arrangements on every table, and at the intermission, it was announced that the flowers had been donated as decorations, but were available for purchase (and the proceeds would go to the choir trip). So...after being briefly USED for an evening on a table, we came home with a "used" flower arrangement and on Valentine's Day Peter looked at me and said, "Happy Valentine's Day - I got you used flowers and dinner at Chick-fil-A." :-) And that's the story. Nothing exciting, it just made us laugh. :-)
