On My Nightstand...

You will find:

The Winner from last week's giveaway!
{Okay, well the winner isn't exactly sitting on my nightstand, but you get the idea...}

Although the giveaway post had over 100 views, only 10 of you signed up to win a copy of WorkShiftI'll never understand people who don't sign up to win free books, but that's all the better for the ten who did! Thanks to everyone who took the time to leave a comment and enter to win. I wish I could give a copy of this book to all of you, but if you didn't win today, I encourage you to purchase a copy of WorkShift in the future. I read it in one sitting, and gleaned a lot of encouragement from it.

Now on to the fun stuff!

Using the random number generator from Random.org, the winning number was comment #8.

Trust. Hope. Rejoice. by Elizabeth A. Johnson

I first met Elizabeth, the author of Trust. Hope. Rejoice., through the blog comments on Busy Nothings. We eventually connected through Facebook and Twitter, and she is a delightful, encouraging online friend. If you don't already follow Elizabeth's blog, it should certainly be added to your reading list.

Trust. Hope. Rejoice. is a collection of Elizabeth's blog musings from the past two years, and two new chapters that she wrote specifically for the book - 30 posts in all. As I was reading through Trust. Hope. Rejoice., I realized that I could easily recommend it as an additional resource for your quiet time routine. The layout, topics, and encouragement could be just the thing you are looking for to help you apply the wisdom of God's Word to your daily life.

Using scripture verses and her own personal walk with the Lord, Elizabeth encourages the reader to seek spiritual growth, and learn how to apply it in real-life situations. She shares openly about her physical battles with a chronic illness, her struggles with discouragement, and her complete hope in the Lord and His faithfulness in all things. Each chapter is just one page long - perfect as a daily devotional - and includes various passages of scripture to think on throughout the day.

The best part about it? Elizabeth is offering Trust. Hope. Rejoice. for FREE, in exchange for signing up for her newsletters and emails. She even points out that you can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time, but why would you want to?  Thank you for the opportunity to read and review your book, Elizabeth - I know it will be a blessing to many!
