A #Birthday Reminder...

Every day of our lives is a gift, something that you should never lament or take for granted.

When I hear people quip: "Oh, I'll be 29 forever!" or "I'm perpetually 39!" I want to scream.

Don't you know how blessed you are?

Around the world, people die from lack of food, clean water, and access to good medical care.

Young mothers are diagnosed with cancer and told they have months to live.

Parents leave us before we're ready.

A friend recently ran a marathon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I'm sure there are parents in that hospital who dream of seeing their child celebrate their 5th birthday... their 14th birthday... and if they make it to 30 or beyond, every birthday is a joyous celebration - just as they all should be.

Is getting older fun?

Nope. I watched my grandparents, and now my parents, deal with aging, and it rather stinks.

BUT...

Every day is still a gift.

Treasure it.

Today, I am proudly celebrating 32 years of life.

Thank You, Jesus, for each and every day!

{Of course, my spiffy new green coat - birthday gift from the hubs - sure helps!}
