Top 10: Valentine's Day Movies

I know I already did my Top 10 of movies, but this is a slightly different catagory. :-) With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I figured this would be a good list to make in case you felt like curling up with your honey (or by yourself!) and watching some on-screen romance blossom. I'll also post links to them if you want to buy them from Amazon.

Carrie's Top Ten Love-Themed (a.k.a. Chick Flick) Movies (in no particular order):
  1. Sabrina (1995)
  2. You've Got Mail
  3. Pride and Prejudice (A & E version done in 1996)
  4. While You Were Sleeping
  5. Shop Around the Corner
  6. Runaway Bride
  7. Sleepless in Seattle (which, of course, ends on Valentine's Day!)
  8. Father of the Bride 1 & 2 (with Steve Martin - cheating because I'm counting it as one!)
  9. Sense and Sensability (1995 version with Emma Thompson)
  10. An Ideal Husband

I thought of several others (like The Importance of Being Earnest, Mansfield Park, The Philadelphia Story, etc.), but I don't want to make a Top 100 list every week - so if I missed one of your favorite movies, I'm sorry. Leave a comment and let me know what I missed, what you love, and what you think I should see. :-)

Valentine Gift Idea: Grab a basket (or a cheap Valentine gift bag from DollarTree) and fill it with a red (or heart covered - Target has some cute ones) fleece blanket, a Valentine-themed mug, hot chocolate mix, a box or bag of a favorite Valentine candy, and one (or two) of these movies.

  1. Hmm. I would add Wives and Daughters, Jane Eyre, Little Dorrit, and Persuasion. Seems like I'm leaving something out, but that's all I can think of right now... Happy Valentine's Day!
