Little Bites {February 2012}

 Little Bites* Tip of the Month: Time It
Struggling with time management or simply making yourself do what needs to be done? I totally understand. One easy solution for giving yourself an out while still getting work accomplished is to use a timer. My sister gave me an awesome retro-looking, magnetic timer that I have stuck to the side of our office filing cabinet. I set it for 20 minutes and then start working. Guilt-free out? When it goes off, I stop filing/cleaning and I leave the room - cleaning progress has been made, but I don't feel trapped because there's no end in sight. Win-Win!

{February Goals}

1. Spend 1 hour a week looking into getting articles published in magazines and online

2. Spend 20 minutes a day working on the laundry room

3. Finish our taxes

4. List items on Craigslist/eBay/Amazon, continue to clean out for spring yard sale

5. Turn off the computer (no email, online banking, FB, blogs, or Pinterest) one day a week (Sunday)

  2. This is brilliant! I kind of knew this already... but it definitely needed reinforcing. Hmmm... now to make my ancient phone hold a timer... : )

    But come on... the magazine thing deserves at least two hours a week! If you think it'll bring you way more happiness than a clean laundry room...

  3. Okay, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the timer idea!!! Perhaps if I employ it myself I might actually start to make some progress of my own with cleaning up & out! Also, I LOVE the idea of a tech-fast one day each week... I might employ that myself as well. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

    Emily - Re: the magazine thing - I agree. I just don't know where to start, but I'm working on it (and articles as well). Yikes! :-)

    Kaysi - Try the timer and let me know what you think. It was GREAT for me!
