Thankful For :: 1001 - 1010

Last Friday, I celebrated my 1000th item of Thankfulness. I'm sure you've guessed by now that most of my posts are written in advance (the only way I can keep my pseudo-OCD side happy), and that includes my Thankfulness posts.

When I wrote about #1000 on Thursday, I had NO IDEA what Friday was going to hold for us. I had NO IDEA how crazy the weekend was going to be. I had NO IDEA what kind of insanity would overtake us as we arrived at the end of another month. NO.IDEA.

I know it drives some of my friends crazy when I post things like that and then don't share all the details, but until every nail is in place, I hesitate to post anything definite in the social media world. Suffice it to say, this week - starting last Friday morning at 6:08 AM - has been a whirlwind, and I have spent a lot of time on my knees asking for wisdom from God, and even more time giving thanks to Him for answered prayer.

There are big things going on around here, my friends. BIG.THINGS. {I can reveal that it in no way involves us becoming parents} I'm really excited to watch the future unfold and to see where we go from here, and I'm beyond thankful that I have a Heavenly Father to caste my cares and anxieties upon when my carefully orchestrated plans get knocked for a loop. SO.THANKFUL.

This week I'm thankful for...

1001. A heavenly Father who cares about the smallest detail of our lives

1002. Answered prayers

1003. Out-of-the-blue opportunities

1004. Good jobs

1005. Developing discipline in handling our finances after conviction that we could do better

1006. Observing a lifetime of generosity and teaching by example

1007. The opportunity to help spread the word about "A Penny A Pass" (FB & Twitter)

1008. Working for someone who understands that mistakes happen

1009. Great "reunion" breakfasts with former co-workers

1010. Celebrating my dad's 71st birthday - so blessed to have him as my earthly father

  2. Can't wait to hear what the big news is!

The greatest thing I'm thankful for this week is the power of prayer. And of praying friends. And of a God who welcomes our prayer, and a Spirit who intercedes for us.

  3. Yikes! I'm excited for new opportunities! (and to hear about them when the time is right.) I hope you're able to relax a little this weekend. Change (or the possibility of it) can be exhausting!

    1. Of course you'll hear about them when the time is right, and yes, the whole idea of change CAN be exhausting. Thankfully, the Olympics have been a fun distraction! ;-)

  4. I can't wait to hear about your big news. Does it involve another overseas adventure? We have big news of our own (no, not pregnancy), and we are also waiting until every nail is in place to share with the world. Happy Friday!

    1. Oh I wish (overseas)...maybe someday (again)! No, not that big, but pretty big. So excited about your news, and glad that we're not the only ones who wait until every nail is in place to share it with the world!
