(Left) 2009 Garden just beginning to grow; (Right) 2010 Garden waiting to warm up
I picked up a few extra seeds at Lowe's the other day and I'm excited about trying some new produce (new from what we grew last year). Today's list will tell you the top ten items we'll be growing (or hoping to grow!) this summer in our backyard garden.
Carrie's Top Ten Items to Plant in Our Garden (in no particular order):
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Giant Pumpkin (yes, we did!)
- Red Onions
- Bell Peppers (multiple colors)
- Jack-o-lantern Pumpkins
- Yellow Onions
- Igloo Lettuce
There might be a few additions to this list, but I'll stick with these ten for now. So...what about you? What are you planning on planting this summer? Do you have a favorite garden product? I'd love to hear from you! In the meantime, happy planning and garden dreaming! :-)
As I mentioned on FB, we won't be around the garden, I mean, house, for a few months, so I'm already missing the preparations! I love everything about gardening, except weeding.
IF I were gardening this year, I'd grow:
Rhubarb (already have 2 plants)
New Zealand Spinach (grows well in the heat of summer)
Beefsteak and Heirloom Tomatoes
Pole Green Beans
These are my stand-bys. Maybe someday I'll branch out into s something new and brave.
I'll be gardening by proxy through your blog! Can't wait!
